AKRON, Ohio – Community Support Services (CSS) will celebrate 10 years of their clients’ creativity and the important role of expression in recovery during the 10th annual Art of Recovery benefit, scheduled for 5:30 p.m. March 25 at a new venue – House Three Thirty.
The event will showcase nearly 60 original works of art created by CSS clients, all of whom live with severe and persistent mental illness. Guests will have the chance to hear the artists’ stories and meet many of the artists in person, an experience that can help to educate the public about mental illness and break down the stigma often associated with it. Video highlights and an awards presentation also will help connect guests with the artists’ strides toward recovery.
Guests also are invited to bid on the art, learn more about CSS’ art therapy program and enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres. Music will be provided by 91.3 FM The Summit. Event tickets are $65 at https://one.bidpal.net/AOR25.
Art of Recovery 2025 will kick off with an online auction of the artwork, starting March 21 at https://one.bidpal.net/AOR25. The auction will conclude at 7:30 p.m. March 25 during the live event. Seventy-five percent of the art sale proceeds will go directly to the artists, while 25% will be reinvested into CSS’ Expressive Arts Therapy program.
