On Thursday, March 9, 2017, more than 240 guests celebrated the creative spirit of persons living with mental illnesses at the agency's Art of Recovery event held at Greystone Hall.   There were more than 40 pieces of original art on display.  The artists were available to share the inspiration for their art.  Many original pieces of art were also available for purchase.  One guest remarked, "I had an opportunity to speak to the artist about the meaning behind the drawing I purchased.  It adds so much to know what she was thinking when she created this piece of art."

During the event, the Honorary Chairperson of the Art of Recovery, Nicole Mullet, Executive Director of Arts Now, spoke about the healing power of the arts.  Community Support Services was honored to have Alex, a participant in the agency's Expressive Arts program, provide some remarks about his experience.  Alex highlighted the benefits of being part of the art therapy program.

The Art of Recovery would not be possible without the generous support of many sponsors including the Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation, the Community Support Services' Board of Directors, the Summit County ADM Board, Seibert Keck Insurance Agency, Roetzell & Andress, Mature Services, Credible Wireless, Fed Ex Custom Critical, the Alpha Group, and Wealth Impact Advisors.
